About CA-Assisted Tax Filing

Most people who type CA near me / ITR filing near me want two things: a qualified person who checks their numbers, and someone they can reach when a question comes up. Neither needs a shop in the next lane any more. The return is filed online whoever prepares it, so distance changes very little. Who prepares it, what they verify and what you see before submission change a lot.

If you are looking for a CA consultant for ITR filing anywhere in India, the process is fully online. You can also visit our Noida office in Sector 63 for an in-person discussion.

ITR Filing Online is run by TaxCaller India LLP (LLPIN AAQ-7388), working on tax and compliance since 2018. Our service is CA-assisted: a practising Chartered Accountant on the team reviews your return before it goes to the department. You deal with us on call, WhatsApp and email from anywhere in India, or from abroad if you are an NRI.

What this service gives you:

  • A fee told on the first call, before you send any document.
  • Your AIS, TIS and Form 26AS matched line by line with your papers.
  • Old and new regime worked out on your real figures, where the choice is open.
  • A written computation sent to you, and filing only after you approve it.
  • E-verification done with you on the same call, and help if a notice arrives later.

Not sure which form applies? Use the ITR form finder first, then keep papers ready using the document checklist. If you live in NCR and prefer to talk across a table, our office is in Sector 63, Noida. You can visit, but the process is the same either way.

For AY 2026-27 (income of FY 2025-26), the regular due dates have passed for most people: 31 July 2026 for ITR-1 and ITR-2, and 31 August 2026 for ITR-3 and ITR-4 without audit. Audit cases have till 31 October 2026. A belated return can still be filed till 31 December 2026 with a late fee under section 234F. Call +91 99111 46650, Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 7:30 PM, to start.

Do you still need a walk-in office when you search for a CA near you?

Ten years ago, a nearby tax office made sense. Returns were often prepared on paper, signed by hand and dropped at a counter. Today every individual return is uploaded on the e-filing portal and verified online. The preparer's desk can be in your colony or in another state. The department sees the same XML file either way.

So what were people really looking for when they wanted someone close by? Usually it was trust. You could see the person, walk in if something went wrong, and ask questions face to face. Those needs are fair. They can now be met without a visit:

  • Seeing the person: a video or voice call gives you a named contact, and you can ask for the reviewing CA's membership details.
  • Walking in when something goes wrong: what you need is a fixed phone number and working hours, so the same team answers after filing.
  • Asking questions: a written computation on WhatsApp lets you ask about each line, and keep a record of the answers.

A shop nearby does not prove skill. Many neighbourhood counters are run by agents who key data into software, with no qualified person checking it. On the other hand, an online service with no phone number and no named team is no better. Distance is simply the wrong filter.

A better test: can you reach a qualified person, see your numbers before filing, and get help months later if the department writes to you? If yes, that service is near enough. If you still want to meet someone in NCR, our Sector 63, Noida office is open on working days. Most people use it once, if at all.

One more point. Searches like ca near me for itr often peak in the last week of July. That is when local offices are busiest and least careful. Starting early, with an online team, usually gets your return more attention, not less.

What should you check before choosing a CA for ITR filing?

Before you hand over Form 16, bank statements and your PAN, run through these six checks. They apply to any preparer, local or online.

1. Credentials you can verify

Only a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) can call themselves a Chartered Accountant. Ask for the reviewing CA's membership number and check it with ICAI. A preparer is free to be a tax practitioner without being a CA. That is legal. But the service should say clearly who prepares and who reviews.

2. Fee told upfront

The fee should be fixed and told before you share documents. Ask what is included: one revision, notice support, a capital gains schedule, foreign assets. A fee linked to your refund amount is a warning sign. It rewards the preparer for inflating claims.

3. AIS reconciliation, not just Form 16

Most 143(1) adjustments come from a mismatch between the return and the Annual Information Statement. A careful preparer downloads your AIS, TIS and Form 26AS and matches each line. Ask directly: "Will you check my AIS before filing?" If the answer is vague, look elsewhere. Our AIS and 26AS guide shows what each section means.

4. Who files, and from which login

The return should be filed in your own name, from your own e-filing account or through an authorised e-return intermediary, and verified by you. You should receive the acknowledgement (ITR-V) and the full return copy. If the preparer cannot tell you how the return will be filed, stop there.

5. How your data is handled

Your Form 16, PAN, Aadhaar and bank details are sensitive. Ask where documents are kept, who sees them, and whether you can ask for deletion. Share OTPs only during a live call when you know what each one is for.

6. Support after filing

Many problems surface months later: a 143(1) intimation, a defective return notice under 139(9), or a refund adjusted against an old demand under section 245. Ask whether the same team will read the notice with you. Reply work is often priced separately, which is fine, as long as you know it in advance. See our notice reply service for what that involves.

If you are comparing options for a ca for itr filing near me search, put these six questions to each one. Their answers tell you more than their address.

Local walk-in agent vs DIY portal vs CA-assisted online: which suits you?

There are three common ways to file. None is right for everyone. The table compares them on the points that decide whether your return goes through cleanly.

PointLocal walk-in agentDIY on the portalCA-assisted online
Who prepares the returnVaries; often a data-entry operatorYouTax team, reviewed by a practising CA

When DIY is enough

If you have one employer, Form 16 matches your AIS, you have no capital gains and you are happy with the new regime, the pre-filled ITR-1 on the portal is manageable. Check your tax first on the income tax calculator. If taxable income is up to ₹12 lakh in the new regime, the section 87A rebate may make your tax nil, but you still file if your income crosses the basic limit or TDS was deducted and you want it back.

When an expert is worth it

  • You sold shares, mutual funds or property during the year.
  • You changed jobs and both employers gave you the standard deduction.
  • You have freelance or business receipts, or traded in F&O.
  • Your AIS shows income you do not recognise.
  • You are an NRI, or returned to India during the year.

Example: two employers each allow the ₹75,000 standard deduction in their Form 16. Total deduction claimed through TDS is ₹1.5 lakh, but only ₹75,000 is allowed. A self-filed return that copies both Form 16 figures will be adjusted at processing, with tax and interest due. A reviewed return catches this before filing.

How CA-assisted ITR filing works from your phone

The whole process runs on a phone and a laptop on our side. Here is what happens at each stage, and what you see.

Stage 1: the scoping call

On the first call we ask about your income sources, not your documents. Salary, rent, interest, share or fund sales, business receipts, foreign accounts. From this we tell you the ITR form, the fee and the list of papers. Nothing is collected until you agree.

Stage 2: reconciliation

This is the stage most walk-in counters skip. Your AIS is compared entry by entry with what you sent. Typical gaps look like this:

What the AIS showsWhat it usually meansWhat we do
Interest higher than your statementsA fixed deposit or recurring deposit you forgotAsk you for the certificate and include it
Same interest reported twiceBank reported under two codesReport once; submit AIS feedback
Sale of securities you did not makeSwitch between fund plans, or wrong PANCheck broker statement; give feedback if wrong
TDS in 26AS lower than Form 16Employer filed TDS return late or wronglyAsk employer to revise before you claim
Rent or 194J receiptsTenant or client deducted TDSShow the income under the right head

Stage 3: draft and CA review

A draft return is prepared on your figures. Both regimes are compared if the choice is still open to you. A practising CA then reviews the draft: income heads, deductions, set-off of losses, TDS credit and tax payable or refund. Questions from the review come back to you before anything is final.

Stage 4: your approval

You get a computation in plain format. It shows each income head, each deduction, the regime used, tax, TDS and the final refund or balance. You reply with approval on WhatsApp or email. If tax is payable, you pay it through the portal yourself and share the challan.

Stage 5: filing and e-verification

The return is filed and e-verified with you on the same call, using Aadhaar OTP, net banking or a bank EVC. E-verification must be done within 30 days of filing. You receive the acknowledgement and full return copy. You can check its status anytime on the income tax e-filing portal.

What are the red flags when choosing a tax agent?

Some practices put you at risk even when the agent means well. Walk away if you see any of these.

Asking for your portal password

Your e-filing password opens your past returns, bank details, AIS and notices. An agent who keeps it can file, revise or respond on your behalf without telling you. If you have already shared it, change it today from your profile on the portal. Share one-time codes only on a live call, for an action you understand.

Refund promises before seeing papers

A refund is simply tax deducted minus tax due. Nobody can promise one without your Form 16, AIS and investment proofs. Be wary of anyone who offers a "full refund" or quotes a refund figure on the first call. The usual way to inflate a refund is a false claim: rent never paid, donations never made, or 80C or 80D amounts with no proof.

Filing without showing the computation

If you see the return only after it is filed, you cannot catch errors in time. You are the one who verifies it, and the liability for wrong claims stays with you. A refund later reversed under section 143(1) or reassessed under section 148 comes back with interest, and penalty may also apply in a misreporting case.

Other warning signs

  • Fee charged as a percentage of your refund.
  • Offers to "arrange" rent receipts or donation slips.
  • No written fee, no receipt, cash only.
  • Return filed from the agent's own email and phone, so portal alerts never reach you.
  • No answer after filing, especially when a notice arrives.

A quick test: ask the agent to email you the computation and the filed return. A genuine preparer does this without fuss. If a notice has already come because of an earlier wrong claim, the notice decoder helps you read it, and a revised or belated return may still be possible.

When does a face-to-face meeting still help?

Online filing covers most returns end to end. A few situations are easier across a table, and we are happy to meet if you are in NCR.

  • Paper-heavy property sales. Old sale deeds, cost of improvement bills and builder receipts are easier to sort in person when there are dozens of pages.
  • Elderly parents. Some seniors prefer to see a person before they share Aadhaar or bank details. Bringing them once can make later calls easier.
  • A family's returns together. When three or four members file and share assets, one sitting can settle who reports what.
  • A serious notice. Scrutiny under section 143(2) or reassessment under section 148 has many documents and dates. A first meeting helps map them out.

Even then, the filing itself happens online. The office visit is for discussion, not a step in the process. If you are outside NCR, the same work happens on a video call with a shared screen.

Our office is in Sector 63, Noida. Call +91 99111 46650 before visiting, Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 7:30 PM, so the right person is free. Carry copies, not originals, unless you are asked for a specific original.

For everyone else, an itr filing ca near me search can end with a phone call. Everything that would happen across the table, from the questions to the review, happens on that call.

Filing from a big city?

Each large city brings its own set of tax questions. Our city pages go deeper on local points:

In a smaller town, the process is the same. You may have fewer local options for itr filing services near me, but the online route gives you the same review as anyone in a metro.

Your form decides more than your city. Pick the right page for your income: salaried employees, freelancers, F&O traders or NRIs.

What happens after your CA-assisted return is filed?

Filing is not the end. Here is what to expect over the next few months, and what you should do at each point.

Processing under section 143(1)

The Centralised Processing Centre checks your return against its own data. You get an intimation by email. It will show one of three outcomes: no change, a refund, or a demand. If the intimation shows an adjustment you disagree with, a response is usually due within 30 days. We read the intimation with you and explain each difference.

Refund

Refunds go only to a bank account that is pre-validated on the portal, and your PAN must be linked with Aadhaar. If the refund is slow, check status on the portal first. The refund delay checker lists the usual reasons. A refund can also be adjusted against an old demand under section 245, after you are given a chance to respond.

Mistakes you spot later

Found a missed interest entry or a wrong deduction? A revised return under section 139(5) can replace the original. Finance Act 2026 extended the window to 12 months from the end of the tax year, with a fee if you revise after 9 months. Confirm the exact last date for your year on the e-filing portal. Past that, an updated return (ITR-U) can be filed within 48 months from the end of the assessment year, with additional tax of 25% to 70%.

Notices

Every genuine notice carries a Document Identification Number (DIN) and appears on the portal under Pending Actions, then e-Proceedings. A defective return notice under 139(9) gives you 15 days. Do not ignore any notice, and do not reply in a hurry either. Send it to us first.

Next year

Keep the computation, acknowledgement and proofs for at least the period in which the department can reopen the case. From 1 April 2026, income is taxed under the Income-tax Act, 2025, so section numbers in next year's return will change. Plan your advance tax using the tax calendar if you have income beyond salary.

What CA-assisted filing covers

Each return goes through the same four checks, whatever the form or income.

Data reconciliation

Every entry in your AIS, TIS and Form 26AS is matched with your own documents before any figure goes into the return.

  • TDS credits checked against Form 16 and 16A
  • Interest, dividend and securities entries tallied
  • Wrong or duplicate AIS lines flagged for feedback

Form and regime choice

The correct ITR form is picked from your income heads, and both regimes are compared where you are still allowed to choose.

  • ITR-1 to ITR-4 for individuals and HUFs
  • Old regime only in a return filed by the due date
  • Regime picked on your actual figures

CA review and your approval

A practising CA reviews the draft. You then get the computation in writing and the return is filed only after you say yes.

When to hire a CA consultant for ITR filing

Hire a CA consultant online if any of these apply to you

Your AIS does not match your papers

Unexplained interest, share sales or missing TDS in the AIS need a reconciled return, not a guess.

You have more than salary

Capital gains, rent, freelance receipts, F&O trades or foreign income move you beyond a simple self-filed form.

You missed the due date

A belated return has fixed limits on regime choice and losses, so the computation needs a careful second look.

You got a notice last year

If a 143(1) adjustment or 139(9) defect hit you before, a reviewed return this year lowers the chance of a repeat.

Documents to keep ready

Don't have everything? Send what you have on WhatsApp — our expert will tell you what's missing.

Send documents on WhatsApp
  • PAN, Aadhaar (linked with PAN) and the e-filing portal login
  • Form 16 from each employer for the year
  • AIS and TIS download, plus Form 26AS
  • Bank statements and interest certificates for all accounts
  • Capital gains statement from broker or mutual fund registrar
  • Rent receipts, rent agreement and landlord PAN (old regime HRA)
  • Proofs for 80C, 80D, 80CCD(1B) and home loan interest certificate
  • Last year's ITR acknowledgement and any notice received

Send what you have; the team tells you on the first call if anything else is needed.

Looking for a CA near me for ITR filing?

Our CA consultant reviews your return online before it is filed, so you do not need to visit an office to get it done. If you prefer to meet in person, our Noida office is in Sector 63.

Is a CA required by law to file my income tax return?

No. Any individual can file their own return on the e-filing portal, and many salaried people do. A Chartered Accountant is legally required only for certain reports, such as a tax audit under section 44AB. CA-assisted filing is a choice for accuracy and support, especially when you have capital gains, business income or AIS mismatches.

How do I check that the person reviewing my return is really a CA?

Ask for the reviewing Chartered Accountant's ICAI membership number and check it with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. A genuine practising CA will share it without hesitation. Also confirm who prepares the return and who reviews it, because many services use a tax team for data entry and a CA for final review.

Can a CA file my return without my portal password?

Yes. The return can be prepared from your documents and uploaded while you are on a call, with you entering the OTP for login and e-verification. You keep control of your password throughout. If you ever shared your password with an agent, change it on the portal straight away and keep the new one to yourself.

What does a CA check in my AIS before filing?

The CA team matches every AIS and TIS entry with your documents: salary, interest, dividends, share and fund sales, rent and TDS credits. Missing income is added, duplicate or wrong entries are reported through AIS feedback, and TDS gaps are taken up with the deductor. This is the main way to avoid a 143(1) adjustment.

Will I get the same CA for help if a notice comes later?

The same team that filed your return reads any notice with you, and the practising CA reviews the reply. Notice replies are a separate service, and the fee is told before work starts. Send the notice by WhatsApp or email as soon as it arrives, so the reply is filed well within the time given.

Is online CA-assisted filing safe for my documents?

Documents are shared only on WhatsApp or email with the team handling your return, and used only to prepare and file it. You never need to hand over original papers or your password. Share OTPs only during a live call for a step you understand, and ask for your files to be deleted if you wish.

Can NRIs and people living abroad use CA-assisted filing?

Yes. The service works fully online for NRIs, so time zones and travel are not a barrier. The team handles residential status, NRO interest, property sale TDS and DTAA relief, and a practising CA reviews the return. NRIs cannot use ITR-1 or ITR-4. See the NRI ITR filing page for detail on forms and documents.

How long does CA-assisted ITR filing take?

For a salaried return with clean AIS data, it usually takes one to three working days after you send documents. Returns with capital gains, business income or several AIS mismatches take longer, because each gap is checked and confirmed with you. Starting well before the due date gives the CA review more time and avoids a rushed filing.

What if I already filed my return through a local agent and it has errors?

If the window under section 139(5) is still open, a revised return can replace the original, any number of times. Finance Act 2026 extended this window to 12 months from the end of the tax year. Send us the filed return and your AIS, and the CA team will check whether revision or an updated return fits.

Do I pay the CA fee before or after filing?

The fee is fixed on the first call, before you send documents, and depends on your income sources and the ITR form. Payment terms are confirmed at the same time. There is no charge linked to your refund amount. Any extra work, such as a notice reply or a revised return later, is quoted separately before it starts.

Do I need a CA near me for ITR filing?

No. You can file your ITR online with a practising CA consultant from anywhere in India. For a face-to-face discussion, visit our Sector 63, Noida office.
